Nice: 19 museums and art galleries, 32 listed historic buildings and 300 hectares of parks, gardens, forests and green spaces, as well as 150 fountains and ponds.
The old town, demarcated by the Castle, Place Garibaldi and Le Paillon, is a very lively area. Worth seeing: Tour Bellanda (circular 19th century bastion), the Naval Museum, Place Garibaldi and Place St Fran'ois, Ste R'parate Cathedral and the various churches, the port etc.
The seafront with the Promenade des Anglais has a sweeping view of the Bay of Angels (from Cape Nice to Fort Carr' in Antibes), and the Mass'na Square, "Espace" and Museum.
